Marko, just found your build thread, and read through all of it. Your attention to details, and your ability to scratch build, modify, and think through those issues, is simply amazing. Looking forward to your next update.

Hi Marko,
Greetings from Trinidad. Amazing work man. I have this kit and you are inspiring me to build it. I thought I made an error in buying this kit instead of the Kinetic one( as it has so much aftermarket enhancements). But I feel much better now. I have two questions, 1) What is the rack behind the cab for; and 2) What is wrong with the wind screens (I see you rebuilt them). Thanks in advance.

OOPS! All your pics did not come up at first. I reopened the page and saw the answers to my questions. But great work nevertheless.

Absolutely nothing It just that I I've lost a bit of thickness throuh all of my chemistry with windows so I had to make a new frame.

Btw, you made a right decision buying this kit

It has 95 procent of necessary pe parts. you can also buy voyager sets that are made for kinetic to use few useful parts from there and spend the same amount of money as if you decided to buy kinetic

Cheers!!

Thank you Marko!

I just don't know if I have the necessary skills to do something like this. Thats why I ask you about it.

BTW, it is a good chance to start a scratch training.

Cheers!

Hi Marko

Great job on this, I really like what you're doing here. I built the Kinetic kit mostly out of box and had great fun with it.

What did you use for the thin white stripes on the windows? What are those stripes for by the way, some sort of insulation maybe?

cheers
Bob

Hi Bob, glad you like it.

For the stripes I used decals provided with the kit. I damaged some so I've cut stripes from some with decals.

AFAIK, glass is cut under the angle, so it lights brighter. Not on the side rear windows though.

Hi Mike,

well no secret.

It is quite simple in fact.

You need:
1. sand,
2. white glue for wood (based on water),
3. water ,
4. if you have you can add tamiya texture paint (pavement effect)

Procedure:

Mix everything.

Regulate thickness with water.

Mix two jars. On thicker and one thinner.

Apply thinner all over the model.

Apply thicker on some areas you think that needs more mud.

You'll probably get some strange colour when it dries. Don't worry, just apply over everything the same colour as on the rest of the model. Yes, apply the same colour

Then put earth colour wash over areas and play with pigments (sand and light dust) once the wash is dried.

There is no exact ratio of pigments and wash, just experiment ! If you are not satisfide, just paint it again and try again
